my recent app's button has stopped working. I know it worked last time I used the kindle, because I close down recent apps a lot. but now I hit it and nothing happens. I have rebooted

    Hello chris209,

I am sorry to hear that.

    Please try the following:
    Tap N2A Settings
    Tap Apps
    Scroll over to All
Scroll down and tap System UI
    Tap Clear Data

Please reboot and try the recents button again.

Please let us know if that helps.

when I tap system UI "clear data' is grayed out. I hit "clear cache" though because that was not greyed out. then I rebooted. I opened several apps, hit home button then hit the recent apps buttion it glows when I hit it but noting happens. I don't even get the "no recent apps" saying. any thing else I can try?

Sorry to hear that did not help.

    Please power off the Kindle.
    Then power on.
You will see Orange Kindle Fire logo, then Blue Kindle Fire logo.
When you see Blue, tap the power so Recovery is highlighted toward the bottom

Within moments you will boot to TWRP.

    Once in TWRP tap Wipe
    Tap Cache
    Swipe to Wipe
    Tap Back
    Tap Dalvik Cache
    Swipe to Wipe

Tap the home icon(Outline of a house)
    Tap Reboot
    Tap System

You should boot into N2A, the apps will restack and say they are upgrading.

Once that is done, please let me know if the recents button works.

Yes! now my recent button works fine again. Is this something I will have do do periodically (that wipe Cache, Dalvic) or was this just some random glitch you think.. ? thanks!

I am very happy to hear that!

It does appear to be a random glitch, I have never heard of that one to be honest.
